Full Time
Senior Executive
General Manager
Electrical District No. 2

The Board of Directors of Electrical District No. 2 (ED2) seeks a leader with a strong power supply understanding and team building skills to become the next General Manager (GM) due to the planned retirement of its current GM. The ED2 Board has retained NRECA Executive Search to facilitate the search process.

About Electrical District No. 2

ED2 is a publicly owned electric power provider that was created under Arizona law for the purpose of bringing power to rural areas of Pinal County, Arizona.  Established in 1923, ED2 was the first of its kind, predating the creation of all other electrical districts in Arizona.

The service area of ED2 includes the greater Casa Grande Valley including in and around the cities of Coolidge, Florence, and Casa Grande. ED2 provides electric service at competitive rates and remains committed to its statutory mandate to preserve the economic viability of irrigated agricultural lands within Pinal County.  The area served by ED2 encompasses over 120,000 acres, and traditionally included irrigated farmland, farm residences, farm businesses, dairies and cotton gins.  Growth spreading south from the Phoenix metropolitan area is now impacting ED2 with large commercial shopping areas and residential subdivisions being developed.  Today ED serves nearly 6,300 customers.  As a publicly owned utility, ED2 is committed to its customers and the communities it serves.

With annual revenue exceeding $31 million, net plant approaching $122 million, and over 400 miles of distribution line, ED2 is financially strong and continues to invest in its electric distribution facilities. To operate its electric system and meet the needs of its customers, ED2 employs 34 full-time employees.

ED2 is responsible for its own power supply and aggressively pursues economically viable options.  Its current resource mix includes federal hydropower from Hoover Dam and the Colorado River Storage Project, participation in a natural gas fueled combined cycle plant, participation in a solar project, and market energy purchases.

The GM of ED2 provides leadership, advice, and assistance to the Board of Directors concerning industry changes, strategic planning, business objectives, and policy needs that will support ED2’s mission, and values while providing effective guidelines for business operations now and in the future.  The GM is responsible for creating an environment that encourages teambuilding and a cohesive work environment between the Board, management, and employees.  Additionally, the GM directs ED2’s day-to-day operations and activities, ensuring that the business of ED2 is conducted in accordance with statutory obligations and ED2’s bylaws, policies, strategic plans, and business objectives.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability
Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026
Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
